Spellsword: Prologue
As the last Spellsword, you are a wizard who saves the day by collecting letters to spell words, which then power your attacks. Letters can have unique powers, which have a chance to get activated every time you spell a word. The longer the word, the more often the powers fire and the more powerful the spell.
To move, just click on your desired location. Walking next to the various obelisks around the terrain will take you into combat. In combat, letters will begin to fall down into the arena. Collect letters to spell words. Once you have a good word, click and hold the green "Fire Word" button to release the spell. The Fire Word text will be replaced by the current value of the wordspell that you have.
I'm calling this the prologue for a larger game with more letter powers and the ability to determine what letters get those powers. Additionally, I'd like to implement an experience feature - use a letter enough times in combat and it's base power will grow. Finally, I'd like to flesh out the different enemy types more.
I'm using Matt Walkden's excellent 16x16 tileset, music and sound effects from Nicolas Jeudy and Dark Fantasy Studio, Retro Gaming font from Dafont.com, Pipoya's 32x32 pixel characters, drxwat's pixel art treasure chest, and art from OpenGameArt.org - details below:
